Official Journal of Society: Humic Substances Research (ISSN: 1349-4368)

Aims & Scope

"Humic Substances Research (HSR)" is an international publication medium for research papers, reviews, and resource and technical notes in the field of science and technology of humic substances and natural organic matter in a broad sense.

The journal covers items such as:

  • Characterization from various origins and basic concepts
  • Novel fractionation and separation techniques
  • Novel analytical methods
  • Chemical, biological, geochemical and physicochemical properties
  • Interactions with xenobiotics
  • Functions in agricultural, geochemical and environmental processes
  • Agricultural and environmental applications

In particular, we are welcome for research papers that are concerning with standard and/or reference samples of humic substances and natural organic matter from IHSS and Japanese Humic Substances Society. Due to the characters for specialized journal of humic substances and natural organic matter, the submitted paper must include the details of (1) source of samples, (2) separation and purification methods, and (3) elemental composition (e.g., C, H, N, O, S, ash contents, and so on).

Call for Papers

"Humic Substances Research (HSR)" was published as an annual issue since 2004. Because this journal is opened in IHSS web-site from 2013, we hope more and more submission from international researchers. The editors welcome original scientific contributions on physical, chemical, biological, or related research on any aspect of theoretical or applied Humic subjects. The journal publishes research papers, notes, review articles, and comments. If you have any questions, do not hesitate and contact to Editor in editorial office.
