Workshop on Macroalgal Culturing Techniques


Period: From 20 to 22 February, 2019

Participants: Four students from three universities (Sungkyunkwan University of South Korea, Prince of Songkla University of Thailand and Nagoya University).

Workshop on Macroalgal Culturing Techniques was held from February 20 to 22, 2019. A total of 4 students from three countries including Japan, South Korea and Thailand attended the course. The course conducted in English. The course consisted of field sampling, isolation of unialgal cultures from macroalgal tissues and reproductive cells, preparation of culture media, maintenance of macroalgal cultures, and cryopreservation of macroalgal cultures. The lecture and field sampling were conducted at the Marine Site of Kobe University. The other laboratory activities were conducted at the Rokkodai Campus of Kobe University.
