AboutWho we are

We are the only laboratory in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering that deals with electricity as energy. We belong to the fifth field of the Electron Physics chair, which is why we are called EP5.

The laboratory carries on the tradition of the Electric Power Engineering chair of the Department of Electrical Engineering, which dates back to the founding of the Faculty of Engineering. It became the Electric Energy Systems Engineering Laboratory in the 1992 reorganization, and the Electromagnetic Energy Physics Laboratory of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering when the graduate school was restructured in 2007.

We work on the problems of electricity as energy and regard the energy problem as our ultimate challenge. We also see the efficient use of energy as an important issue for a sustainable society.
