iWMK 2016

Date:
July 30 (9:30~18:10)
Venue:
Kobe University Takikawa Memorial Hall
Academic Exchange Center

The International Workshop on Membrane in Kobe (iWMK) is an annual event hosted by the Center for Membrane and Film Technology, Kobe University (MaFTech center), with the aim at academic exchanges and discussions on today’s advanced membrane research and technology.

MaFTech center, as the integrated membrane research unit established in 2007, endeavors to achieve world-leading research and education on membrane technology. In order to accomplish the goals, the center is building up an international hub which links a number of representative membrane research institutes around the world. Up to date, MaFTech center has made MOU based official partnerships with 10 globally renowned membrane research centers in Asian, Oceanian and European areas. Together with MaFTech center, leading researchers from these centers are invited to iWMK to share their latest research achievements as well as the insights on recent trends of membrane research in their countries. Audiences at iWMK are also encouraged to have close discussions with invited researchers. iWMK provides not only an opportunity for academic exchange among students, scholars and company members, but also a networking chance between overseas top researchers and domestic industries.

The iWMK2016 will be held at Takikawa Memorial Hall of Kobe University, as a post-conference of the 10th Aseanian Membrane Society (AMS10). The AMS is well recognized as one of the largest international events with academic focuses on membrane science. We believe the close collaboration between AMS and iWMK will provide a wider spectrum of exchanges for membrane researchers, as well as a great opportunity of networking between academia and industry.

At iWMK2016, we are greatly honored to have 10 overseas universities participating. Including Kobe University, the participating universities are as the follows.

  • Chung Yuan University (Taiwan)
  • Hangyang University (Korea)
  • Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Hong Kong)
  • Victoria University (Australia)
  • Institut Teknologi Bandung (Indonesia)
